Grow Tips

Growing "Auto Deimos", a hardy autoflowering strain, offers some unique benefits and challenges. Here are specific tips to optimize the growth of this plant:

1. Climate control
Temperature: Ideal daytime temperatures are between 20-26°C. Nighttime temperatures should not deviate greatly from daytime temperatures, as extreme fluctuations can disrupt the plant's growth cycle.
Humidity: Keep the humidity at around 40-50% during the vegetative phase and reduce it to 30-40% during the flowering phase to prevent the development of mold and fungi.
2. Lighting
Since Auto Deimos is an autoflowering strain, it does not require the usual light cycle change to induce flowering. It can grow under a constant light cycle of 18/6 (18 hours light, 6 hours dark) or even 20/4 for the entire life cycle.
LED or CFL lamps are well suited as they provide sufficient light with lower heat output, which is especially beneficial in smaller grow spaces.
3. Soil and nutrients
Use a well-drained soil to avoid waterlogging. A mix of coco, perlite and organic soil provides a good balance for water retention and aeration.
Autoflowering plants have a shorter growing season and require less fertilizer than photoperiod plants. Start with a lower dose of nutrients and slowly increase based on the plant's growth needs.
4. Water management
Water carefully and avoid overwatering, as Auto Deimos does not develop the depth of root system that larger photoperiod varieties have. Small, frequent waterings are more effective and safer.
Check the moisture content of the soil regularly to make sure it does not become too dry, especially during the flowering phase.
5. Pruning and training
Pruning is less common with autoflowering strains as they don't have much time to recover from stress. If you do want to prune, do it sparingly and only in the early growth stages.
Techniques such as LST (Low Stress Training) can be helpful to keep the plant low and bushy and to maximize light exposure for all buds.
6. Pest and disease management
Keep the cultivation area clean and check regularly for pests and diseases. Use organic pesticides when necessary to protect your plants and the environment.
Good ventilation is crucial to prevent the accumulation of too much moisture and resulting mold problems.
7. Harvest time
Observe the trichomes to determine the best time to harvest. Auto Deimos is usually ready to harvest within 7 to 8 weeks of germination, when the majority of the trichomes have turned a milky to amber color.
These tips should help you get the most out of your Auto Deimos grow and achieve a successful, high-quality harvest. Good luck with your grow!
